Description
This is a, landmark recording, by Klemperer and the Philharmonic. The recording quality is exceptional, with a very spacious acoustic, a brilliantly judged tempo and an exquisite valve sound that I think particularly suits these concertos and their instruments - addictive for many!
Matrices as follows:
Side 1: YAX 647 - 3 Side 2: YAX 648 - 3 Side 3: YAX 649 - 2 Side 4: YAX 650 - 2
When I feel it is necessary, records are cleaned with a Loricraft professional Mk3, using alcohol free, l'Art du Son' professional cleaning fluid.
I use the Record Collectors' Guide to Grading and have listened carefully to all 4 sides
Vinyl: Visual grading There are some sleeve/hairline marks on all 4 sides, but listening shows them to be non sounding, hence a visual grade of EX.
Vinyl: Audio grading In spite of the visible marks, all 4 sides have astonishingly quiet playing surfaces, both across and between bands. If you listen very hard, there are a tiny few, faint ticks on side 1. However, these can easily pass unnoticed and at worst, they put side 1 on the border of M-/EX++.
Sleeves: The sleeves are rather tatty at the corners. However, the laminate is intact throughout; there are no seam splits, or tears and the spines are clean, clear and readable - VG+. Please look at the photos.
The discs come with the early EMI sleeves, but will also be shipped in archive quality inners.
