Description
SCHUMANN SYMPHONIES - GEORGE SZELL CONDUCTING THE CLEVELAND ORCH. (please scroll to the bottom of the listing for high-res images)
A lovely and bona fide original copy of this highly collectable original SAX columbia blue and silver labeled record.
LABEL: Columbia (Blue and Silver)
YEAR: 1961
CATALOGUE: SAX 2475
MATRICIES: YAX 984-1E / YAX 985-1
GRADING:
SLEEVE: VG+ Good News first. The Front of the sleeve is in EX+ condition. Bright and clean with no laminate creasing. Similarly the spine is in EX+ condition with no folds or wrinkles although there is a slight flattening. HOWEVER... the unlaminated back of the sleeve would grade as VG in that it appears to have had some clear liquid spilt on half of it causing some light staining and slight bobbling (see pictures at bottom of listing). There is also some lifting and splitting of the flipback at the bottom and side (again, see pictures). Overall VG+
VINYL: EX- The record retains its gorgeous sheen. There are a few entirely superficial paper scuffs. The record plays through as EX+. A real delight.
The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine system:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
IF YOU DISAGREE WITH MY GRADING (Which is hope is very unlikely) PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE LEAVING FEEDBACK.

I calculate postage using the Royal mail postage calculator. I charge an extra 50p for packing materials as i buy specialist record mailers and stiffeners. Sometimes records cost less to mail than i expect. In these cases i try to refund the difference. However, as I mail a number of records at one time i occasionally lose track of who paid what postage for what record. RATHER THAN LEAVING LESS THAN 5 STAR FEEDBACK, IF YOU HAVE BEEN OVERCHARGED FOR POSTAGE PLEASE CONTACT ME AND I WILL IMMEDIATELY REFUND YOU THE DIFFERENCE.
