GRADING

SLEEVE: EX

The front laminated sleeve is in nice clean condition. There is a little feathering to the opening edge are some laminate creases to the peripheries. The unlaminated rear is similarly clean with just some light discolouration. The spine is sharp and true.

RECORD: VG/EX

The record is lovely and glossy and seem to have had only minimal play. There are some light abrasions (cleaning marks?)  to side 1, band 3 – I have tried to capture these in one of the images. When the volume is turned up there is an occasional very light ‘swish’ as it plays through these marks. There is a small fine scratch to the start of side 1, this creates a couple of very light ticks. I have graded the side conservatively to avoid disappointment. There is also some yellowing to the label of side 1 and some marks to the deadwax (again, see image). Side 2 is superb with just a couple of fine, non-feelable sleeve removal marks visible under bright light.

The above record grading is based on Record Collector magazine’s system (I do not use NM – EX+ is my highest grading for unsealed records):

Mint (M) Sealed

Excellent + (EX+) The record / sleeve should be in perfect condition.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good (VG) / Very Good + (VG+) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) / Good + (G+) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
