Description

SAX 2537 RARE T/S Lab Klemperer. UK was only Red Semi !

missionsellit Store

Cover VG+ (writing 1 corner seam damaged), LP only VG+ but it is SUPER RARE as a curio, with different first issue label to UK SAX 2537. Officially SAX 2537 was the first of the Red Semi labels as first editions BUT........

This LP has the same master stampers as the collectible  UK Columbia pressing stock No. SAX 2537. (also -1 , -1 stampers) That UK issue was only ever a RED Semi label as a first edition, but in Australia we issued the turquoise label right thru to SAX 5286 that I have seen. In All my ebaying I have sold about 5 such labels, (Turquoise but later than SAX 2539, the last official UK Turquoise label SAX issue) they are extremely rare, even in OZ where they were issued.  All Australian SAX Columbias have a suffix to the normal UK stock no. SAXO instead of SAX, but all other details correspond to the UK issues.

Record has a few minor tics, THREE small damage spots only visible under 10X magnification (1 x 3mm scratch and 2 patches of pinprick  size pressure impacts) which cause three corresponding sections of extended ticking about 30 revolutions each, that makes the rest of this visually stunningly clean record unfortunately suffer in grading, and is rated therefore as VG+ on replay,

I would suggest this is enjoyable, but more to purchase as a rare curio if you buy SAX turquoise or labels. or Klemperer recordings.

Klemperer conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra playing Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique OP 14.

same master stamper as SAX 2537 (visible in supersize photo's)

Stampers side 1 YAX 1104 - 1

Stampers side 2 YAX 1105 - 1

Record fully test played, test play report below

If you already have an original UK COLUMBIA pressing, Buy THIS  lp and You can play it instead of  wearing out your original SAX 2537 investment !

NO .... Paypal does not cover me if its not insured, I know I have looked into the situation EXTENSIVELY!!

Condition (see Photo's)

COVER-  The Australin cover Printed in Uk with Australian rear card, is VG+, only one small  seam tear on rear flipback cover, top right corner. The previous owner , a professional cello player has written "60M" near title denoting total playing time, and a filing number (?) above composers name on back , no obvious ringwear, just the slight embossing of the LP circle in the cardboard,  (see photo's)There is minor corner rounding but no seam splits or tears. Rear unlaminated cover is slightly yellowed with age.

LP' in some quiet parts of the recording it has the occasional static crackle in odd sections, but has been getting quieter since cleaning and I have played it twice in full since cleaning, these quite crackles may lessen with a few more plays, but I don't have the time for a $5 record.....

LP is shiny with Minimal  paper scuffs only in very bright light .HOWEVER  One  3mm scratch on start of  side A  that  produces about 30 tics the rest of the record has occasional quiet static crackle in a few very quiet musical passages. TWO Small spots with  small pinprick style of indents in two places producing two more series of clicks. (Why do these minor clicks always occur in QUIET parts of the recording #@#@$&%&!!!  The rest of the record plays very cleanly.
LP was dust free and clean, a few  spindle marks on both sides labels,.Record has been wet washed in a Knosti record bath.

Has it's original clear  dust jacket.
