HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2008 TO ALL. This is my first auction under my new username of LP-CLASSICS. My previous auctions were conducted under the username "alloyguy". To all my previous customers, thank you for your support. To all new customers, please check my seller feedback and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Most of the LPs in this offering are first-label UK Columbias, most of which are in VG++ to NM condition, and all of which have affordable starting bids.
LP-CLASSICS OFFERS THE FOLLOWING ITEM
JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET
Bartok: The 6 String QuartetsColumbia (UK) LPs, SAX 5260, 5261 and 5262, all with the original red semicircle labels.
Condition of Vinyl: "SAX 5260: NM/NM-; SAX 5261: NM-/VG++; SAX 5262: NM-. Cosmetic marks and some minor background noise keep the set from a grade of NM."
Condition of Jacket or Box: "SAX 5260: VG+; SAX 5261: NM-/VG++; SAX 5262: NM-"
Other details: "There are numbers written in white ink on the labels of sides 1 on SAX 5261 and 5262; they are shown in the photos. All the records are in soft plastic inner sleeves. I believe that this is the way they were sold, but am not absolutely sure."
Description of Condition:
"Mint" Vinyl: Sealed, or opened to verify pressing, but unplayed-----Jacket or Box: No obvious flaws
"NM(+)" Vinyl: Almost no sign of play, perhaps a spindle mark-----Jacket or Box: Minor ring wear, creased corner
"NM-" Vinyl: Almost NM, but with at most a few barely visible and inaudible scuffs-----Jacket or Box: Slightly more wear than NM
"VG+(+)" Vinyl: More obvious evidence of play and scuffs or light marks that will produce soft ticks but will not seriously impair enjoyment of the music-----Jacket or Box: Possible seam splits, writing (even if otherwise NM)
"VG(-)" Vinyl: Clear evidence of play, with some audible clicks but no skips.....only rarer records offered in this condition-----Jacket or Box: Writing, larger seam splits, discoloration, bent corners
INNER SLEEVES: Original inner sleeves are provided, when possible. Many older mono LPs were sold without inner sleeves and quite a few stereo LPs were sold with transparent plastic ones. All LPs will be shipped with a replacement generic inner sleeve if the original is not available.
INSERTS and/or LIBRETTOS: These are provided when available, and their condition will be stated. It will also be noted if they are missing.
GRADING is strict and conservative, and records are guaranteed to be as described. Most LPs are graded visually and visible marks checked for audibility. Nevertheless, mistakes happen and defects can occasionally be overlooked or be too small to detect. Most records are not cleaned before the auction, and cleaning is strongly advised before evaluation after purchase. If you are not satisfied I will be happy to provide a full refund.
Payment in $US is due within 7 days of receipt of invoice unless other arrangements are made. Cashier's check, money order, personal check and Paypal are all acceptable methods of payment.
