Description
When I feel it is necessary, I clean records with a Loricraft MK3 Professional, using alcohol free 'l'Art du Son' professional cleaning fluid.
I have used the Record Collectors' Guide to Grading and have listened carefully to all 4 sides.
This is the SAX semi-circle, white notes and it is the first SAX edition (no B/S) - I have seen less carefully evaluated examples selling for much, much more!
Matrices: Side 1- YAX 3357 - 4 Side 2- YAX 3358 - 5 Side 3- YAX 3359 - 2 Side 4- YAX 3360 - 3
Vinyl: Visual Grading
Labels are really excellent and surfaces are super clean and glossy throughout. Sides 1 - 4 have scattered tiny hairline/sleeve marks that are only visible under strong light and when held at an acute angle angle.
Side 1 has a 3mm mark on band 2 that results in 15, moderately quiet ticks.
I would therefore grade sides 2,3,4 visually as EX+ and side 1 as EX-
Vinyl: Audio grading
With the exception noted above, sides 1- 4 actually have almost silent playing surfaces, with only a rare, very faint tick; until the last few bars of side 4 where there is a very faint and unobtrusive, slightly repeating tick, that does not come to the fore, or detract from this passage. Sides 2 and 3 and almost all of 4 could easily be described as M- so, on balance, I would give EX overall.
Sleeves:
Both sleeves are crisp, clean and solid, with no splits, or significant edge wear. The laminate is perfect and the spines are excellent and easy to read. Only some discolouration where the flip over laminate meets the back and very slight creasing make the sleeves EX+ rather than M-.
The inner sleeves will be archive quality liners. Please note the records do not come with the original, inner liners, which, were a poor fit to the sleeves.
