We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. The music on this LTD ED "BIZARRE" label deluxe rarity features exclusive different versions & rarities only available on this album ....

The music within is even more attractively schizoid than on the band's studio albums. Listen to the opening medley as it moves effortlessly by way of Stravinsky: a wild journey to be sure, but without any bumps in the road.

And at the same time it's remarkably sophisticated for the sixties era. The first half is all crazed Mothers fun and games, but it's during the second act when the band really shows its chops, and proves (not for the first time) that the Mothers of Invention were more than just Frank Zappa.

The nearly 24-minute 'King Kong' / 'It Can't Happen Here' (from FREAKOUT!) reveals Zappa's debt to 20th century Russian classical music, and in retrospect shows just as clearly his own influence on the seminal Krautrock bands of the early 1970s (chiefly, the Dada cabaret act of FAUST). The semi-symphonic intro gradually transforms into a protracted Jazz-Rock jam (with some exciting instrtuments on the jam), before making a graceful transition to a typically atonal Mothers of Invention freak-out, with roots in the European classical avant-garde tradition.

This last half included everything from silly, synchronized Swedish vocals to unexpected instrumental breaks to what sounds like the buzz of a spinning short-wave radio dial, but make no mistake: nothing here is left to chance. Zappa was no doubt 'conducting' the nine- piece band in his trademark fashion, controlling every burst of supposedly wayward noise with a series of body gestures worthy of Leonard Bernstein.

As an added bonus, the sound quality throughout is surprisingly acceptable ...
