PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. *CLEAN* Original 1969 VINYL first pressing in unipak gatefold of the 2nd (of three) Mandrake Memorial albums. All three albums are scarce and highly sought for good reasons. A cross between garage, psych and prog, the band featured unique and varied trippy styles.
Anyone who lived in Philadelphia in the late '60s would remember the Mandrake Memorial well. They opened for many of the star rock bands who passed through the city, and in terms of local popularity, they were probably only second to the Nazz. Outside of Philadelphia, they were scarcely known whatsoever, though they did manage to produce some fine psychedelic laced adventurous albums that went unknown with poor distribution by the tiny label "Poppy Records". They were accomplished players and interesting writers, dressing their solid melodies with liberal complex moves and Middle Eastern influences...
By a small margin, many followers say 'MEDIUM' is the favorite Mandrake Memorial album of the three the band released. A stylistic breakthrough, criminally under-recognized. Dreamy, fuzzed-out, adventurous 60's creativities. An album without a single weak moment; it works as a total album flow experience demanding total immersion. An amazing piece of mellow psych/prog/garage. "The Otherside" is a mind blowing song, best on the LP and opens with the incredible "Snake Charmer" followed by the terrific "Witness The End/Celebration" . Whilst the flowing and relaxed "Last Number" and the acid-rocking "Smokescreen" keep a good standard of smooth grooves throughout .
