Description
SCARCE BEATLES Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Rare 1967 VG CONDITION
RARE PMC 7027 Mono laminated picture sleeve
Hi and a BIG thank you for your time to view my items. Before you look and read my listings please take the time to read my Terms and Conditions, you will find them at the bottom of my listing and unless I have mis-written them I believe they are quite clear.
On my last listings I had buyers paying me minutes after the end of my auctions. I’m very happy for this to happen but I send items by the final weight after packing and protection have been added now for 1 LP to be posted with an average weight is around 600grams. I weigh every item that is won and use the royal mail website to give me the correct cost of sending this item.
The cost to send by First Class signed for is £4.10. 2nd class £3.70. Look at the Royal Mail website. To send items overseas to Europe is £11.70. To Japan £15.20 other countries will be around this cost. If you wish to purchase more items from my auction and win, then these costs will change as it will be calculated on weight.
I am not making money on this and I fail to see why I should send items at a lower cost as was pointed out to me by one winner who was prepared to open a case against me. I am also not putting a fictitious cost so that it may gain me more bids. If you disbelieve me please visit our Royal Mail website
www.royalmail.com/price-finder and check the cost for yourself.
Please also note I will not send any item by any other means other than Signed for, or International signed for. With NO exceptions.
If an item is won over £50 I will also not send this without insurance, again no exceptions.
.
I have once again after a very long break to list hopefully a varied selection of items from a very large collection that I have been collecting over many years. .
Now I’m not here to have an open debate or argument with anyone in the Ebay community, whether they be a professional or amateur seller or collector but over my collecting years there is always an element of surface or background noise/sound with audio reproduction on vinyl reproduction, I have purchased sealed audiophile heavyweight pressings that have suffered from some surface noise and in the very odd case were totally unplayable. I have purchased sealed records straight from the factory and these have suffered some degree of surface noise, it’s inherent in the pressing of vinyl and the way it is produced.
All used vinyl has at least light marks and surface scratches which are always visible when viewed under a bright light, my advice would be to stick to CD if you are after total blackout silence. Myself I believe surface noise adds to an emotional experience of reality which can not be matched by CD only my opinion
All the records (LP’s and 7 inch singles) that I intend to put onto Ebay for sale are 2nd hand either my own or have been given to me and have in many cases been played, some more than others. But I will always highlight this fact when grading, if the vinyl has surface marks or other defects these will be pointed out also.
I’m very sorry but I don’t always have time to play grade every single item, and the majority of my grading is done by purely visual means, so please view my feedback and you will see that I try to give the best account on the condition of any item I put up for auction.
This is my hobby and not my profession.
I will though play LP’s, and singles that are very collectable to get a better insight to the playing condition of the item being sold for auction.
I will never play/sound grade coloured vinyl or picture discs, they were made as limited edition collector's items only and the vinyl used to do this was of a lower quality. They will more likely have crackle and pop with background noise. They were made only to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, rather than have audiophile sound quality.
Now I accept that the above may differ from any winning bidders perception of what I have graded. I cannot always vouch for whether every record plays all the way through in total black silence with no noise. If you have any doubts then please email me or again just view my feedback.
THE BEATLES: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Rare 1967 UK first press 13-track MONO vinyl LP with 'Gramophone Co' & 'Sold In The UK' label credits, complete with intact sheet of cut-outs & 'flame' inner, fully laminated internal flipback gatefold picture sleeve PMC7027) .
The LP was played on my Elite Rock, Ittok tone arm and Blue Point special EVO III front end with Lavardin amplification and through Impulse H6 speakers. The LP played through side 1 with only a very quick jump on the first track which was almost missed. There were audible pops but none of which were annoying to the listening of side 1.
Sound quality was clear and still clean.
Side 2
The LP played with very superficial surface noise on all tracks. Surface noise pops and ticks was evident in between all tracks but still did not distract from the playing of this LP in it's entirety. The sound was more than satisfying and still produced a listening pleasure for a 45+ year old LP.
THE COVER: The gatefold cover shows wear to the corners and edges.
The spine remains intact although there is creasing. There are no splits or tears. No other damage can be seen. When opening the cover the laminated inner has shrunk so the cover doesn't open out flat. I have graded the cover in VERY GOOD condition.
THE BACK COVER: The back cover shows no writing or any other signs of damage and has been graded in VERY GOOD condition.
THE INNER SLEEVE: The flame inner has had damage which has been repaired by cellotape on all three sides. There is also writing which has been crossed out. I have graded the inner in GOOD condition.
THE SHEET OF CUT-OUTS: Intack. I have graded these in VERY GOOD condition.
THE VINYL: Both sides of the vinyl LP still retains a nice acceptable shine to both playing surfaces. There are a number of surface marks which can be seen under a strong light source. Both sides have several light scratches which can be felt. Thanks to the quality pressing, most of these marks are cosmetic, although the odd click & a certain level of surface noise may be audible at times.I have graded the vinyl record in strong VERY GOOD condition.
THE LABELS: The original labels show spindle marks although the wear around the centre hole is very minimal. The perimeter text states "The Gramophone Co Ltd" with "Sold In The UK Subject To Resale" etc across the centre of the labels. Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition with no writing on any of there surfaces.
MATRIX NUMBERS.: The matrix numbers are scratched into the run-out grooves are.
The matrix numbers have been machine stamped into the run-out grooves and both end -1 indicating that this copy was one of the first pressed
