• Although this is very scarce as it's literally from 30 or more (not less than) years ago , it could, and has been mistaken for a 1966 original pressing ... this pressing is THAT close with thick cardboard cover and just "has the appearance." Anyway, the Shaggs made only this one album, all jangle guitars led while retaining the raw/primitive innocent teen riot structures of the '60s ... very Byrds inspired with touches of other hip-sounds of the 60's - the entirety of both sides, all tracks provide for entertaining listen. No wonder why original pressings for for triple figures and rightly so.

• We don't think it was ever played. Again, scarce - not around - pressing that has fooled even the seasoned dealers ....  
  
  Although recorded in 1967 at the International Recording Studio in Chicago, this one and only offering by the five-piece preppy outfit from Notre Dame University in Indiana, with its multi-part vocal harmonies and jangly guitar, could easily have appeared in 1965 or '66.
  However, there is no doubting the band's musical proficiency as they canter through a selection of songs by such luminaries as the Stones, Who, Beau Brummels, Byrds and Them, with the high point being an inspired version of 'If I Were A Carpenter'. As was so often the case, the band members, after producing what was to become a massively-collectable rarity, went their separate ways, probably to pursue fascinating careers in the world of orthodontistry or accounting.
  
  The Shaggs' "beyond rare" long player Wink has been one of the most coveted private-press "garage" albums in underground '60s record collecting circles, only speculation shrouded the group itself who were often mis-described as "Prep Rockers" from Notre Dame University, and rather a crew that were "straight from the garage."

3. The cover: rated: VG++ because it sports the mock wear as reproduced from the original that we believe really did have the wear. However, THIS scarce copy, looking all too close to the '66 original, is some 30+ years ago and seldom seen, essentially in MINT condition.  there are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing  ...
