SCARCE UK TOWER RECORDS

LEGENDARY CALIFORNIA GARAGE PSYCHEDELIA !

THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND

The Inner mystique

\ UK - Tower Records - ST 5106

SCARCE British exact "Tower Records" label 2ndpress that was not around long at all, but having "the look" as well as great playback -- superior to the reissue that currently floats around ...this pressing has nothing to do with 'easy to find' and is the next best thing to that '67 pressing that currently is getting, what, $500 - $600 - $700 on eBay ...this 2nd TOWER RECORDS pressing had only a brief production, and here, a spare copy of that pressing was found in MINT condition.

High on everyone’s list as one of the most exciting garage bands ever. Hailing from San Jose, California, the Watch Band—featuring the pouting, Mick Jagger-influenced lead vocals of Dave Aguilar, the thrilling guitars of Sean Tolby and Mark Loomis, the solid bass of Bill Flores and the thumping drums of Gary Andrijasevich—made all the right scenes in San Jose, including appearances with South Bay chart-toppers the Syndicate of Sound and Count Five.

The Inner Mystique, the Watch Band’s follow-up LP to the outstanding "No Way Out", and puts you in the middle of a hippie ballroom with legendary producer Ed Cobb’s “Voyage of the Trieste” and “In the Past,” which use enough psychedelic guitar, electric sitar and exotic shakers and rattles to grow your hair at least two inches overnight. The snarling fuzz punk anthem, “I’m Not Like Everybody Else” sounds like it was written just for the Watch Band, as is the pulsating "Medication" and their version “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” is a jingle-jangle masterpiece. Last but not least their haunting take on We The People's, "In The Past" is a stoned cold groove of the best kind. Every track's a treat!
