Description
Hi and thanks for looking. Please read all info especially if bidding from outside the UK.
For auction is the 1965 Columbia LP “Scene '65” (mono 33SX 1730).
This is a very rare album showcasing R&B bands that were playing on the mod/club scene in 1965. It features some very obscure bands whose recordings are rare such as: The Measles/The Bo Street Runners/The Fairies/Micky Finn/The Zephyrs as well as better known bands: The Animals/Yardbirds/Manfred Mann/Alexis Korner's Blues Inc/Georgie Fame & the Blue Flames/Downliners Sect/Zoot Money's Big Roll Band.
This LP lists at £125 (mint) in the 2012 Rare Record Price Guide but truly mint copies sell for more if you can find one, which is very unlikely.
Condition: Vinyl = VG. Both sides have a number of surface marks but all extremely light and fine. Nothing close to what i would describe as a scratch i.e. none are “feel-able” to the touch and are only noticeable under a strong light. Labels show spindle marks and side 1 label has a 1cm by 2cm piece of paper sellotaped on with a previous owners initials on it. Inner sleeve is the one with “Important – take good care of your micrgroove records etc & use emitex cleaning cloth etc. I'm not sure if this the original inner.
Sleeve = VG. Some light rubbing & ring/shelf wear. Light scuffing to corners. Front has a little laminate creasing (almost always present on these laminated sleeves). Light wear to open edge. Rear has a little fading around flipbacks & a couple of very small brown foxing spots. Top of back sleeve has previous owners initial in biro (see pic) 3x7cm.
This is a brutally honest and conservative description as I don't want anyone to feel misled or disappointed. Generally this is a very tidy copy of a genuinely rare LP with extremely minimal lessening of sound quality.

Unlike some who, for example, describe a sleeve as being "excellent" when the photo's clearly show it's not. Please contact me for any further info/pictures.
