Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is a very rare original, UK, 7-inch single from Screaming 'Lord' Sutch (accompanied by 'The Savages') called 'She's fallen in love with the monster man', 'B' Side 'Bye bye baby', catalogue number CB 1944 on the Oriole label - a pressing dating from 1964.
Both Sutch's Oriole singles from 1964 are notoriously difficult to find, but to find one in this fabulous condition is every Sutch collectors dream. It has to said that Sutch's following, which can most definitely be described as 'cult', played his music at wild parties where most attendees were out of their heads on drink, drugs, or both, and so very few good copies of his 'monster' themed records have survived.
The cover is in excellent condition, with only slight age toning and some edge turning. The vinyl is clear and bright with the barest of marks only visible under high angles of illumination, and the odd finger mark at the edge. It has absolutely no scratches or marks associated with play, and the centre label is absolutely mint, with no wear or signs of use and no visible spindle marks to suggest this has ever been on a turntable. For the age its as close to mint as you could find, buy this copy and you'll never need to upgrade as I doubt there is a better one out there to be found. I would rate it Ex/Ex++. Many would describe the vinyl as M, but I am very strict and precise with my assessments of condition.
