SEALED DUKE ELLINGTON & JOHN COLTRANE 1968-70s ABC IMPULSE AS-30 GATEFOLD Lp

The bottom of the back cover says, "A Product of ABC-Paramount Records, Inc." but since it is sealed I have no way of knowing what pressing it is or exactly what year it was released. My guess is that it dates from between 1968 and the early 1970s, but that's only a guess. Therefore, it is sold as is. I note a piece of the shrink wrap is missing near the bottom left front corner, left rear corner, and the upper left corner is poking through. There is some wear to the exposed corners- see pics. Vintage price sticker from the legendary King Karol Records is on the shrink wrap. Gatefold. I note an oval shape near the lower right corner of the front cover (see pics). I do not know what this is. Interestingly, the shrink wrap is unaffected by this and does not show a similar impression. On the other albums I have with a similar marking, it does not go through to the gatefold inside or the back. See pics. 

About my Sealed Lps- The Blue Note & Impulse! record labels have changed hands numerous times over the years. When I began noticing copies of artists I love on either label disappearing from store shelves when an ownership change was in progress, I began buying duplicate (Sealed/New) copies so I’d have a backup in case they didn’t return to print. I still have most of those duplicate, Sealed copies, and after years of agonizing about parting with them, I have decided to offer some of them here!

Given that stocks of some of the original Blue Note & Impulse! covers were apparently left over and transferred to the new owners, who then used them with new pressings, it’s often impossible to tell exactly which pressing is inside. Therefore, since I bought these between 1970 and 1984 I’m guessing they are the contemporary pressing. Also, many of my open copies are of the contemporary pressing, so I’m pricing them as if they are, too. Of course, they could be an older or different pressing. I just don’t know.
