“Glass Bead Games" on STRATA EAST RECORDS ( SES-19737-8 ) featuring tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan with two different rhythm sections - Cedar Walton / Sam Jones / Billy Higgins and Stanley Cowell / Bill Lee / Billy Higgins performing original compositions by the quartet members. Recorded October 29, 1973
This classic session is in FACTORY SEALED condition with no cut-out notches or punch holes. The shrink-wrap has peeled back a bit from long-term storage (see photos) but the two LPs have never been removed and are unplayed.
The audio sample in the SOMETHINGSOMETHING juke box above (the Bill Lee composition titled "Eddie Harris") was not recorded using this auction item.
+++++++++
NOTE: I am lowering the starting bid because a Strata-East specialist has made me aware that this pressing is not from the hallowed era of that label. HOWEVER... please be reminded that it IS this Strata-East session in glorious VINYL (unplayed) which of course is what audiophiles prefer instead of enduring the SONIC STERILITY of CDs.
ALWAYS REMEMBER:
CDs = throw-away commodity
LPs = tangible artifact
