SECOND HAND

DEATH MAY BE YOUR SANTA CLAUS

1971 UK MUSHROOM - 200 MR6

200 MR6 A-3

200 MR6 B-3

Very rare original first pressing of this superb UK Prog Rock gem. This being the very earliest 1971 pressing, as the cover & label omit the track 'Funeral', which appeared on a slightly later 1972 UK Mushroom pressings.

The vinyl grades around good+. There are many light fine hairlines, & some mild scratching & some light scuffs, the description makes it sound bad, but this album still plays & sounds mostly great. But, If you're looking for a excellent copy to play on your top end 'Thorens' or 'Linn' turntables, then this isn't it. Back in the day, this album was probably enjoyed by some stoned hippie puffing on Chillums & Bongs in a 'Camden Town' flat. It's certainly not trashed, but it's not the best surviving copy out there either.

Side one actually plays & sounds pretty great. A few light tics right at the start of the side, this caused by a small pressing fault, a tiny indented pit a few turns in, as mentioned, this only causes around 4 or 5 tics, over in no time. The rest of the side plays just fine, with a little crackle or pop here & there, but certainly nothing overly loud or off-putting. The sound quality is still really decent, with no major deterioration in the audio.

The start of Side 2 plays with some light to medium very short dull thud noises, this whenever the stylus passes over a small section at the start, again, this seems to a be a pressing flaw, as the vinyl looks slightly different in a small narrow section at the start (I have tried to show this in one of the photos), this causes the stylus to track a little side to side for a short while, nothing serious, certainly not drastic enough to cause any skips or jumps. The rest of the side plays & sounds just fine, but with just a little more crackle & pop than side 1. Again, the sound quality to side 2 is still really good, with no major lessening in the audio.

The labels are in very good condition. Still pretty much in great shape, having no bad faults at all.

The fully laminated single sleeve is also in pretty good shape. There are no bad defects such as rips or seam splits. There are some noticeable lamination shifts & creases to the cover, also a little lamination blistering close to the spine. The top & edges are fine, having hardly any wear, & the spine almost the same, but with a couple of tiny cracks. This cover is still in pretty decent condition, with no major flaws at all.

I will only send this Item by recorded post. I pack my records very well. The Item will reach you In the same condition as advertised & pictured.
