RARE original UK first pressing of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band`s cover version album "The Penthouse Tapes" on Vertigo Records (March 1976).
"Anyone familiar with the work of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band knows the group had an intriguing penchant for performing odd cover versions from all different areas of popular music. This 1976 album allowed the group to give full vent to this obsession: Three of the tracks are band originals, but the rest are a series of covers that hit everything from Irving Berlin to The Osmonds to Alice Cooper. The resulting album has a thrown-together feel that keeps if from cohering properly, but still manages to be a worthwhile listen thanks to a combination of spirited performances and interesting arrangements." - Donald Guarisco for allmusic.com.

- Unlaminated gatefold sleeve in excellent allround condition. Minimal allround wear.
- Very slight partial dulling to front and back cover ("record imprint").
- Light scuffing along the bottom edge.
- Minor wear to the bottom corners.
- Includes both the cardboard inner, as well as the exceedingly RARE sheet with Alex`s comments, both in MINT- condition: A sensational find, indeed!
EX++ RECORD with very minor signs of previous play.
- Very fine vinyl on both sides, with near-perfect audio reproduction throughout.
- A few superficial hairlines on both sides, from sleeve removal only.
- Original Vertigo "space-ship" Records labels with no spindle wear whatsoever.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "9102 007 1Y //2 E 11 13 HTM (etched)" and "9102 007 2Y //4 E 11 7 HTM (etched)".
- This record is hereby certified to be a UK first pressing of "The Penthouse Tapes", released in March 1976.
