Description

This auction is for an ultra rare Sex Pistols single

The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle  VS 290

This is one of the few mispressed copies with the yellow label on the B-side instead of a deep pink colour

and it also includes the American Express lawyers telephone conversation on the A-side after the title track,

the telephone call was in regards to the use of the American Express card on the sleeve without permission,

this picture sleeve was withdrawn soon after 

It was released in 1979 with the track "Rock around the clock" on the B-side

I've only ever seen one of these on eBay before and it was back in 2008, not be confused with regular copies which appear on here regularly

I would describe the condition of both the vinyl and sleeve as excellent, I have added below a more detailed description as I know from experience that many sellers describe most vinyl as excellent condition when realistically it is only in  good condition and sometimes worse, I'm not a record dealer but I have described this as honestly as possible and would not sell something I would not be happy to receive as a buyer

THE VINYL DESCRIPTION

The A-side

The centre label is in mint condition with no spindle wear, tears or writing on etc                                                         when held to the light the vinyl has very light surface marks which I can only describe as what look like finger prints and which in no way affect the sound quality

The B-side

The centre label is mint condition with a bright clean yellow colour, it has no spindle wear, tears or writing etc                  once again when held to the light the vinyl shows light surface marks which I can best describe as finger print type marks, there is also a tiny white dot (see photo below) which appears to be a fault in the vinyl but in no way affects the sound quality  

THE SLEEVE DESCRIPTION

I would say the sleeve was in excellent condition, it has four clean, sharp  corners, although one corner has  a minor crease it does not affect the perfect square edge, the opening is in mint condition with no signs of wear at all, the edge around all four sides shows  no signs of wear as it has obviously been well looked after over the years, there is no writing or indentation anywhere on the sleeve which is often the case with old vinyl sleeves
