Description
ARTIST: The Sex Pistols (Paul Cook, Steve Jones, Johnny Rotten and Sid Vicious)
ALBUM TITLE: Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
RECORD LABEL: Warner Brothers early release (1977) pressing, BSK 3147, with provisional white record label.
RECORD CONDITION: M-. No visible wear to the record. I have listened to the album with headphones, and there are no skips, pops or distortions of any kind. The record labels on both sides are clean with no wear (see scans 5 & 6). Note: the white labels were pasted on a little bit off-center (see last scan) and when on the turntable, gives the effect of the record being lopsided (I don't think this adds or subtracts from the record value, but it is worth noting). A very nice copy.
COVER CONDITION: G+. Thinnish cardboard cover, rubbing to edges, with much of the spine lettering rubbed away. Light soiling, light stress creases, esp. to front cover, bottom edge (see 8th scan). Original label on front cover, with discoloration from glue ("This album may containing material unsuitable for airplay, BSK 3147" see scan 7). Rear cover past-on label for added song detached and unfortunately missing (I looked inside the paper sleeve and cardboard cover--it's not there). Glue remains are visible and show where the label was mounted (this is the 12th track "Sub-Mission" added from the original UK 11 track issue LP)
PAPER SLEEVE: VG-. Original, unique blue ink printed paper record sleeve, clean with much corner creasing, not uncommon, but with no tears, etc....
Comments: The record for sale is above average, slightly below-average cardboard cover, which unfortunately is missing the rear paste-on label for the added track, but does have the warning label on the front. Scarce, early issue of this punk rock classic.
Inquires are welcome...
RECORD/COVER CONDITION GUIDE AND REFERENCE
RECORD:
S Applies only to original factory sealed records. Although implied that the condition is MINT, this cannot be guaranteed because there could be production defects.
M I do not rate records at this level.
M- Records that look like new but may have slight, visible marks, light scuffs or stains that don’t affect play.
VG+ Allows for light scratches or scuffs that should not significantly affect play. The surface shows little signs of having been played
VG There are visible scratches, scuffs and/or stain that may be noticeable. All tracks may play perfect except for one that has a scratch that may cause the record to skip. If there are any known skips in a record, it will be mentioned in the listing. Slight warp0ing may be found on the record but on a decent system, it should not affect play.
G Appears well plays with scratches or scuffs and more than one scratch that might affect play. May have warping, skips and/or noticeable audible noise.
G- The same standards as “G” but to a greater extent. (I do not list such records)
