SEX PISTOLS - THE GREAT ROCK 'N' ROLL SWINDLE - RARE - LAWYER SPEAK ORIGINAL PRESSING 1979.
Up for grabs is this Mega Rare Sex Pistols Great Rock n Roll Swindle single.
The fifth single to appear from McLaren's master scam The Great Rock n Roll Swindle bearing the Sex Pistols name, Malcolm was determined to keep the Swindle idea alive and had finally realized that the Sex Pistols meant money and was by this point obsessively focused on getting the film finished.
Issued in the UK in an inspired sleeve by Jamie Reid ripping off the American Express card with a Sex Pistols twist, again trouble wasn't far away and Virgin got threatened with legal action unless they withdrew the sleeve.
The sleeve was eventually withdrawn in compliance but not before Virgin issued a few rogue 7"s with the answer phone message they had added as an extra track in the vain hope of pushing the single further up the charts....it didn't work.
The flip side of the single was Rock Around The Clock a version that would have Bill Haley spinning in his grave featuring another over the top vocal from Tenpole Tudor with added screams and wolf whistles, not the worst swindle track for a B.Side but certainly not the best.
The sleeve has been well cared for, with minimal storage wear and unexpected for a record of this age the vinyl itself looks great, this has been looked after very well, it doesn't look it's 40 plus years age.
Nothing to not like about this excellent record, a Very fine addition to any Sex Pistols collection of note.
