Description
Punk (!) Punk (!) Punk (!). You are bidding on the first edition of the first edition. Now 32 years old….and LONG OUT OF PRINT. Here’s an opportunity to own an historic document. This is the original first UK pressing of the legendary Never Mind The Bollocks LP by the SEX PISTOLS.
The same sold on eBay, in March 2009, for $172 (US).
As you know, only the first edition of the first pressing was born with a blank back sleeve. That means the titles are not printed there. Later pressings list the tracks on the back of the sleeve. Regular pressings were issued with:
A, the original 3” square green SPOTS 001 sticker placed on the shrinkwrap to conceal the word ‘Bollocks’
B, the scarce PROMO POSTER by Jamie Reid, featuring a graphic for each track
C, the original one-sided freebie single ‘Submission’
This is the original first pressing with original blue label etiquettes and without the track ‘Submission’. Yes, this LP is the original 11-track version (catalogue number V 20869). It’s NOT the later 12-track version with the additional ‘Submission’ track. After ‘Barclay’ kicked out the first PISTOLS album in France with the track ‘Submission’, the UK label ‘Virgin’ released it with the above 3” square sticker, Jamie Reid poster and one-sided ‘Submission’ single. This rarity will be the showpiece of any serious PISTOLS collection. Take a look at the track listing. Their best album features only classics: ‘Liar’ / ‘New York’ / ‘EMI (Unlimited Edition)’ / ‘Bodies’ / ‘Holidays In The Sun’ / ‘Seventeen’ / ‘No Feelings’ / ‘God Save The Queen’ / ‘Anarchy In The U.K.’ / ‘Pretty Vacant’ / and ‘Problems’.
