SHADOWS, 60s SURF GARAGE INSTRUMENTAL LP, SELF TITLED, HAISHAN LABEL

Haishan label, not sure date of this release, early to mid ‘60s I believe. Taiwan label, unofficial release, I think. Colored vinyl, orange and dark brown or black swirl, vinyl condition seems to be at least VG ++, all I can see is a little scraping around the spindle hole. Jacket is in VG ++ shape, which is printed on heavy paper, and coated inside and out with plastic. Plastic just seems to be a little scruffy. Thirteen songs, total, and are as follows:

SIDE 1

Gonzales - Great, guitar led and surfey with spaghetti western flavor.

Find Me A Go Den Street - Don’t know if this is misspelled or what. Slower and moody, great reverby spaghetti western surfey sounding guitars.

Theme Form A Filleted Place - Slight mariachi flavor. Nice guitar lead harmonies.

That’s My Desire - Teen ballad with vocals; real great! When they do sing, they sing so well!

My Resistence Is Low - Great ‘Telstar’ type sound. Super reverby guitars.

Sleepwalk - Medium slow, sleepy, great guitars, with organ.

Big Boy - Great and fast...sounds like Roy Clark joined The Shadows

SIDE 2

Suadoggie - Good boogie-woogie number.

Blue Star - Great, moody, reverby guitar lead. Quiet, dreamy, and space-agey.

Nivram - This must be Marvin backwards. Bluesy and jazzy with walkin’ bass guitar...cool!

Baby My Heart - Great vocals, garagey, invasion, and Buddy Hollyish!

See You In My Drums - Big drum number! Look out Sandy Nelson! Beach movie sound!

All My Sorrows - Dark and folkish ballad...great vocals like Peter and Gordon!

Stand Up And Say That - Fast, R&B Ray Charles style piano, with rock’n’roll guitar.

Awesome record!
