SHB54 (World Records Retrospect Series six-LP box mono) - 'The Music of Delius, Volume 2: The Post-War Years, 1946-52'.
A spectacular boxed set. The first two records feature a performance of 'A Village Romeo & Juliet' conducted by Beecham (RPO & Royal Philharmonic Chorus, rec. July 1948). Cast includes Dennis Dowling, Frederick Sharp, Rene Soames and Marjorie Avis.
Also includes the Violin Concerto (Jean Pougnet; RPO. Beecham, 1946) & PIano Concerto (rev. Beecham, with Betty Humby Beecham, piano, rec. 1946).
Songs of Sunset, Song of teh high Hills, Brigg Fair, On hearing the first cuckoo, Summer night on the river, Summer Evening, Song before Sunrise, Prelude to 'Irmelin' & Intermezzo & Serenade from 'Hassan'.
All RPO conducted by Beecham, the great champion of Delius. Enjoy Delius' music in its best light. Includes extensive notes. Previous owner has included the Gramophone review of this set from October 1979 by Felix Aprahamian.

All records we sell on eBay are cleaned on a new VPI HW 16.5 record cleaning machine and the sleeves placed in new plastic covers before shipping.

2. We will always quote postage and packaging at UK Standard 1st Class rate for UK delivery for items up to £25 in value, as this is the most efficient option in our experience. All UK deliveries for items valued in excess of £25 will be via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. All overseas deliveries will be via Royal Mail Air Mail Small Packets Rate. Post Office performance is outside of our control and at buyer’s risk. At the request of a buyer, we can arrange recorded or insured delivery. If this is of interest, please email us for a quote prior to bidding or making payment, failing which, dispatch will be as stated. All items are packed with considerable care to prevent damage during shipping. See full rate details below.
3. If you are the winning bidder, please try & make contact within three days and make payment within seven days. We will immediately dispatch your goods on receipt of cleared payment.
4. Please do not bid unless you intend to proceed with the transaction. Your failure to complete a transaction may cause disappointment to other bidders, you waste everyone’s time and we incur unnecessary eBay costs. Appropriate action will be taken in these circumstances.
5. We prefer payment via PayPal, however we will accept credit card payments, personal
cheques (UK buyers only) and cash (only via registered post and only by prior
agreement).
6. Refund policy – all items are guaranteed to be as described. We will accept refunds if contacted within 14 days of receipt of item, stating why the item is to be refunded. If the item to be refunded is not faulty in any way, then the auction price is all that will be refunded. If there has been an error on listing then the auction price and postage will be refunded. NOTE: return postage is not included.
