Description
For auction is SHELLY MANNE & HIS MEN "Play Checkmate," on Contemporary S7599, Stereo DG, 1962. With Conte Candoli, Richie Kamuca, Russ Freeman and Chuck Berghofer.
SOUND: MINT
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The sound is clean, powerful, outstanding in every way! brilliant!
VINYL: VG+/NM
Side A has one long, faint scuff and a couple smaller ones. Completely superficial, and the playback bears that out. Side B looks near-perfect. The deep-grooved, black/gold labels are stunning.
JACKET: VG+ or better
The jacket is in solid, good shape all-around, the corners with a touch of routine wear. There is a small ticket upper right front corner. "Property of" written on back. Otherwise, very clean, and excellent condition both sides.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
A totally cool record that plays brilliantly, the vinyl is lovely! Buy it now for $21.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
