Description

THE SHIVER - Walpurgis  Maris (Reissue FOC)

Record:   Mint-

Cover:    Mint-

This reissue of the extreme rare Shiver LP was copied of an original LP, because the master tapes are lost. So the sound quality is not top, but all in all the total amount of available copies of this album inclusive all vinly and CD reissues are only 3000(!!!).

This is the one and only album the swiss band from St. Gallen in 1969 released. The cover is an artwork by the famous designer H.R. Giger, wellknown for doing the ELP "Brain Salad Surgery"-sleeve.

The LP's highlights are "Repent Walpurgis" a cover of the Procol Harum tune and the selfcomposed "Hey Mr. Holy Man". Both tracks are heavy keyboard lasting psycho rock numbers. Remarkeable are "The Peddle" and "What's Wrong About The Blues" for the dominated heavy guitar riffs, what make the album a Swiss krautrock classic on its own.
