THIS ONE RARELY TURNS UP HERE IN HOLLAND. THIS IS THE FIRST (AND PROBABLY LAST?) SPARE COPY I CAN OFFER. THIS OF COURSE IS THE PRE "MARISKA VERES" VERSION OF SHOCKING BLUE. IT IS THE ORIGINAL DUTCH PRESSING ON POLYDOR FROM 1967, NOT THE LATER KARUSSEL REISSUE WITH LESSER TRACKS. THE SLEEVE IS IN EX- CONDITION AND THE RECORD IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS VERSION AND THE KARUSSELL RELEASE IS THAT THERE ARE MORE TRACKS ON THIS ONE AND IT ALSO HAS A LAMINATED FLIP-BACK SLEEVE SHOWING A DIFFERENT PICTURE TO THE REVERSE.
I REMEMBER READING SOMEWHERE THAT THE ORIGINAL MALE VOCALIST WHO I THINK WAS CALLED "BILLY DE WILDE" HAD TO LEAVE IN ORDER TO DO SOME ARMY SERVICE FOR HIS COUNTRY, THUS PAVING THE WAY FOR THE SULTRY MARISKA VERES. THE REST AS THEY SAY IS HISTORY.
