A heavyweight record in the hip-hop story, this EP introduced the world to the Diggin' In The Crates collective and launched the careers of two Bronx notables: Show(biz) and A.G.
This record was pressed up by Showbiz himself and distributed via the trunk of his car throughout NYC and the surrounding areas back in 1991. It sold fantastically and got enough radio play for Payday/London to pick the duo up and re-release the EP with a slightly different tracklisting and full picture sleeve.
The re-release was dope, but one of the tightest cuts was missing: 'It's Up To You', featuring a sterling performance from Lord Finesse.
At some point around 1997, it was bootlegged/repressed and ever since then you've had people passing off the repress as the original. Here's the differences for you eagle-eyed diggers:

1) The red is more 'orange' on the OG label, compared to the pinker hue of the repress..
2) The contours under the label are completely different. The original pressing has a sharp 'ring' close to the outside, but the repress has much 'softer' ridges - and a main circle close to the centre. Check the images below.
3) The infamous 'musical notes' on the original press are missing from the repress. On the original, you get 'SB 456 A' (or 'SB 456 B') and the 'CSB' signature followed by two musical notes - and the 'F/W' mark. The repress only has 'SB-456-A' (or 'B').
4) A quick and easy way to tell without checking out runouts? Sure. Check the text on the label. The original press has 'Showbiz & A.G.' - but the repress misses out the period after 'A.G.'.

Sound quality is slightly better on the original, due to thicker vinyl and more playing area, but you need to own this record any way possible. Just don't pay $300+ for the bootleg, OK?

THIS IS ACTUALLY UNDER THE VINYL AND AFTER TALKING TO A FEW PEOPLE I FOUND OUT THAT THE VINYL USED IN MANUFACTURE WAS VERY CHEAP MEANING IT WASNT THE BEST QUALITY - SO THIS IS PART OF THE RECORD - NOT WEAR AND TEAR - THERE IS A SMALL CLICK AT THE START OF THE TRACK)
