SHYLOCK 'Gialorgues' LP (France, Replica Records, Catalogue #RPC024) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited year 2016 Replica Records label LP edition of 1976 Symphonic Prog Rock album by French band Shylock. Originally self-released by the band in 1976 and re-released on French CBS the following year when the band signed to that label.

Fantastic totally instrumental progressive rock from France. Named after the lake area in the Southern French Alps, where the band hails from, 1976's 'Gialorgues' was SHYLOCK's first self-produced album. This unique album of progressive instrumental rock, with Frippian guitars and symphonic moods reminding of GOBLIN, now sees a welcome reissue on vinyl. The instrumental work is just superb. The tracks are very complex; it's easy to hear the skills of these musicians.

Gialorgues was an instrumental blend of Genesis (the electric guitar of Hackett and synthesizers of Banks), Yes (the extended musical structures) and, to a lesser extent, King Crimson (the inventive percussion work of Muir).
