SEX PISTOLS - SOMETHING ELSE - 7" SINGLE - 1st GERMAN PRESSING 1979.
Up for grabs is this Rare Sex Pistols Something Else single.
The Second single to appear from McLaren's master scam The Great Rock n Roll Swindle bearing the Sex Pistols name, Malcolm's idea was to keep pushing Sid Vicious as the ultimate kamikaze Sex Pistols front man.
Issued in a colourful sleeve made up of still scenes from the animated parts of the movie (the Sid scene was later cut) it was Sid Vicious sticking his biker boots into the teeth of an Eddie Cochran standard, featuring lead vocals from Sid on a beefed up musical backing giving the original a good run for it's money before ending with the signature Sid Vicious Sneer and a two fingered salute.
The flip of the single was the old sea shanty / rugby chant along standard with a tongue in cheek sea fairing vocal from Steve Jones a track with so much swearing that it was unlistenable if Granny Or anyone with a nervous disposition was in the room
Sleeve is the same design as the UK using thin paper stock as all German sleeves were, luckily this has been cared for, minimal storage wear to the sleeve with one small recoloured sticker removal mark that you hardly notice, lastly unexpected for a record of this age the vinyl itself looks great, this has been looked after well, it doesn't look 40 plus years old.
Nothing to not like about this excellent record, a Very fine addition to any Sex Pistols collection of note.
