Description
Another jazz gem from my extensive autographed record collection is this 1963 LP album by Stan Getz. This was from ROOT RECORDS and had the number "Roost LP2249". The title of the album was "The Greatest of Stan Getz". Song titles can be seen in photo 11. Stan Getz (1927-1961) was one of the most influential tenor sax players of all time. He is credited with bringing the genre of Bossa Nova into the mainstream of jazz. He is remembered primarily as a post-bop artist from the West Coast Cool jazz era. The album cover has been signed in black sharpie "Stan Getz" (photo2). The album is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity (photo 5) but as most collectors know, that does not guarantee anything.
