SIMON AND GARFUNKEL Bridge Over Troubled Water QUADRAPHONIC 1972 SHRINK
Up for sale is an original US Columbia Quadraphonic pressing of Bridge over Troubled Water! This release dates to 1972, during the attempt to bring 4 channel sound into the mainstream. The vinyl is nearly flawless visually but plays more like EX with minor ticks/pops present (the lightweight CBS vinyl formulation of the 70s is difficult to find without this problem). As you can see, the sleeve is partially in the shrink and this listing also includes the original promotional sleeve explaining Quadraphonic audio. It's important to note that, even though it can be decoded as a four channel record, it can be played with a stereo cartridge to reveal an fresh and interesting mix for those who have heard this album only in the traditional stereo version.
Before listing, this record was cleaned on a vacuum record cleaning machine and will ship with a plastic outer sleeve included too.
