SING THIS ALL TOGETHER BEATLES/ROLLING STONES Bootleg LP

This is an auction of collectible vinyl long-playing records. This particular auction includes a single copy of SING THIS ALL TOGETHER a two-disc compilation composed of recordings by THE ROLLING STONES, with some extremely limited participation by The Beatles. Released in 1977 on the “Smilin’ Ears” Record label, the collection is largely composed of material by the Rolling Stones previously released by prolific bootleg producer Vicki Vinyl. Several things purporting to involve personnel from both The Beatles and The Stones are not accurate – for example, Ringo does not play drums on “Sing this All Together,” (Jim Keltner did) and a purported studio demo with vocals, “We Love You,” is actually an instrumental. Despite these inaccuracies, this is memorable a collection of demos, live tracks and interviews which any Roling Stones fan should find of interest.

Both the vinyl and the cardboard sleeve appear to be in Excellent condition.

The entire package is in Excellent condition and has been unplayed and protected inside a polyvinyl bag for more than 20 years.

I am selling this record on behalf of my friend John D. Berry, who writes: “I bought this collection in the late 1900s from John Ellison, a friend who was working (as I was) as a technical editor at Microsoft. John and his partner Lesley Link were starting a small publishing house, Broken Moon Press, and wanted to raise money to fund this endeavor. John had been a Rolling Stones fan and a devoted record collector, but he decided to sell his collection as part of the publishing effort. I was not especially a Stones fan, but I was willing to buy the collection to help the cause, figuring that I could always re-sell it later, probably for more than I paid.

“John was a very serious collector. Most of these vinyl disks have never been played, and many of them are extremely rare. They all date from no later than the mid-1980s; many of them are from the 1970s or 1960s. Quite a few are bootlegs, unauthorized but tolerated iterations of particular recording sessions or performances. For many years, these bootlegs could not be sold, even when they were approved by the artists; these days, however, that worry seems to be a dead letter, and lots of bootlegs show up on eBay and other selling sites.”
