MEGA RARE SKA LP with Laurel Aitken + Bobby Aitken, Alan Martin, Vic Brown Combo After Sunset LK 4606 Mono Decca 1964 Press Mega rare Various Artist Ska Lp on UK Decca released in 1964. With tracks from Laurel Aitken his brother Bobby, Alan Martin and the Vic Brown Combo. The Laurel Aitken tracks were mostly originally released as singles on the Rio label in 1963. This was one of the top 50 rarest Reggae Lps as listed this year in Record Collector. This LP does not contain Calypso or any other fillers just SKA!! Tracks SIDE ONE 1. Laurel Aitkin Fire 2. Grading The album cover is in excellent condition. The laminated front cover has a couple of small light laminate creases, the spines and seams are undamaged and the title and label info are clearly visible. The back cover shows light signs of handling a bit of light ringwear at the top. Considering the back cover is white and 45 years old its in incredibly good condition. The only real fault being the number 88 being written on it (in small print see photo) The vinyl is in similar top condition with only an occasional light hairline and blemish visible. There are no scratches or anything that interferes with the superb sound quality. The labels look great with the odd visible stylus mark. Visually graded vg+++++ The best news of all is the sound quality. There is the odd little bit of static but very little even between tracks. Sound quality overall graded excellent but M- for much of the album. The sound is the typical clean powerful production you get from early Decca mono pressings on nice heavy vinyl. It's a great medium for early Ska!! When was the last time you saw a copy of this up for sale? Don’t miss it!!!
