Description
SLADE's 1st LP AMBROSE SLADE - BALLZY DJ Promotional Copy - Not For Sale - White Label - Fontana Stereo SRF-67598 with Recommended For Air-Play Sticker On Front - No Punches
This record is in VERY GOOD PLUS Condition - This is from the Personal Flaze Collection - I purchased this from a Dealer in New York City in 1975 and have never played it as I already own(ed) a lesser condition copy - I am not able to critique it today as I no longer own a turntable but let me ay that the vinyl is GORGEOUS - The sleeve shows some wear & some minor splits in the seam but does not detract from the piece overall. A true piece History from One of the Greatest (& Most Under-rated) Bands in Rock N' Roll. Kiss, The New York Dolls, The Ramones, Twisted Sister, Oasis and scores of others count themselves as Slade fans. Often imitated but never duplicated, Slade paved the way for legions of sound-alikes that followed and establish what is known today as 80's Hair-Metal. Their penned "Cum On Feel The Noize" was the first Heavy Metal Number in the US when covered by a pale imitation of the band a full decade later!. T-Rex, Sweet & the rest of their contemporaries in early 70's had to crank up their sound to compete with this group that was toppling records held by the Beatles & The Stones in their UK homeland all across Europe Japan. This LP explores their roots as they cover a diverse collection of acts ranging from The Beatles to Frank Zappa to Steppenwolf. Lead vocalist Noddy Holder's take on the Marvin Gaye classic 'If This World Was Mine' is a rapture. Tracks Include; Side 1: Genesis / Everybody‘s Next One / Knocking Nails Into My House / Roach Daddy / Ain‘t Got No Heart / Pity The Mother - Side 2 : Mad Dog Cole / Fly Me High / If This World Were Mine / Martha My Dear / Born To Be Wild / Journey To The Center of Your Mind - 6.85 S&H in a Protective LP Carton with USPS tracking in Cont'l USA & $13.95 to most other Locales - Insurance Additional & to be quoted after the auction. FREE SLADE 45 INCLUDED. Good Luck & Thanks!
