This auction is for a rare 45 rpm vinyl record in a custom Fontana sleeve.

Originally formed in the mid 60s as the In Betweens (or ‘N Betweens) – Wolverhampton lads Neville (Noddy) Holder (guitarist / vocals), David (Dave) Hill (lead guitar), Jim Lea (bass, violin), and Don Powell (drums), became Ambrose Slade and were subsequently managed by Chas Chandler, the ex-Animals bass player who also looked after Jimi Hendrix.
The group went on to phenomenal success clocking up well over 30 hit singles mostly during the 70s and 80s hitting the No. 1 spot six times between 1971 and 1973, and spending a total of 20 weeks at the top of the chart.
Three of the chart toppers – ‘Cum On Feel The Noize’, ‘Skweeze Me Pleeze Me’, and ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’ achieved the rare feat of entering the chart at No. 1.
Anyway, here’s a shot of early Slade from the late 60s before the hits started – The Shape Of Things.
