Slaughter just didn't care, in true punk style they crashed from the bleak dark streets of Manchester's suburbs into the national consciousness, after supporting the Sex Pistols at the Lesser Free Trade Hall, out punking McLaren by offering to do the gig posters and putting themselves as headliners, it was that cock sure attitude that would earn them fans the world over.
They had the don't mess with us attitude in spades, Promotors were fearful of their reputation as hard men, the band simply meant business and they just didn't compromise for anyone.!
With their blunt and ferocious form of punk, they got called many things in the press but didn't care and just kept on going, many of the punk bands that followed owed them a great debt.
