Description
Artist: Small Faces Title: 1st Format: 12" Vinyl LP Year: 1965 Country: UK Label: DECCA Condition (cover): Near Mint Condition (disc): Near Mint Other info: Laminated cover The music on this LP is the highest level of freakbeat with a foundation in British blues rock. The sound is incredible!!! It's of course, a MONO copy. A very surprising and innovative record, as when you first hear this, your ears will perk up because you will begin to think you are listening to some of Led Zeppelin's more bluesy tunes. The singer here just HAD to be ripped off by Robert Plant. The similarities are just too close! That said, this LP must have been one of the heaviest from '65 Crushing guitar work and chunky drumming with thunderous bass, and that vocal like Plant's...it's almost like Led Zep had a forgotten first LP. Yet, this is also unmistakable as a Small Faces LP. It also has a "MOD" thing about it like the early Who as well. Why these guys didn't become huge like these other 2 bands I just mentioned is hard to fathom.but here is their first LP....a bondafide classic.
