Their first Lp on Decca and what a killer album it is too!..Great covers of soul tunes and some first rate songs of their own, all played with fire and drive!..Punchy guitars, swirls of Hammond, pushy bass lines, powerhouse drumming topped off with Marriot's great vocals!..
Best of all,this plays EX+++
Issued on Decca in 1966..LK 4790..UK pressing in Mono...
It has 4A matrix numbers and the mothers/stampers are 1GG/1GG....
Play grade is easily EX+..The sound quality is bright, clean and undistorted, just bursting out of the speakers!..I noted ONE tiny pop on the A side (and that was on a track link!)..None on the B side..No clicks either..I noted NO crackle either (and I had this one up on a high volume!)..
Beautiful sound quality!..
The disc plays flat on the turntable with no edge warps...
Visually, the disc looks EX minus..There are a couple of light hairlines to each side,(One slightly more noticeable to the beginning of the B side),but no deep or nasty scratches..It's the sort of disc that you would look at and say:"This is going to play superb!"..That's how clean it looks!..(As we all know, those 60's Decca pressings were built to last and it takes more than a hairline to affect their playing standards!)
The sleeve (front laminated ) grades as EX minus, maybe slightly less..
The laminated front is VERY clean with just a hint of discshape and a little cracking to the laminate along the edges..The corners are square and the spine (crimped top and bottom) is udamaged..The non laminated back has some expected age yellowing and a little discshape..The back and bottom top edges show a few curious stain spots, they seem to be a bit crispy to the touch (maybe dried out glue splashes?)..Otherwise a tidy sleeve...I did 2 sets of sleeve pictures as my scanner seems to like putting everything a bit yellower than it actually is!.
There are no seam splits, rips, tears, scribble, other stains, sellotape or tape marks and all of the text on the spine is clearly legible..
The labels are undamaged with clearly legible text but there is visible spindle wear..This has obviously had regular but careful play...
UK buyers are welcome to collect this in person or collect it from The Southend Record Fair (12th February.)..where there are LOADS of great albums and singles offered for sale...NEW VENUE for this fair is West Leigh Schools on the A13..SS9 2JB..
Check it out on Facebook (Southendrecord).
POSTAL COSTS..Paypal take 5% off these costs!
UK:£3.25.EEC and Russia!! :£4.60...
USA,JAPAN.AUSTRALIA etc:£7.25.
There are delays on post going INTO the USA due to an increased scanning of packages at US Customs (Anti terrorist measures,I believe)..Parcels ARE being delayed and delivery may take a MONTH!!..
The Russian Federation is also having delays on deliveries ..This is due to the sheer volume of parcels going into the Federation..Again,expect delays!.
Payment
I accept UK cheques and Postal orders, bank transfers and of course.PAYPAL......

All items are securely and professionally packed..Records are shipped out of their jackets to prevent seam splits..If there is an inner sleeve or a picture sleeve, then the disc will be packed in a plain white sleeve.. All items are posted the day that payment is recieved..
