ORIG Immediate DEMO / IM 057 (UK, Mono, 1967)
Very happy to offer the original UK pre-release demonstration copy of this evergreen classic from August 1967 (release date 4.8.67).
In the history of popular music, has there ever been a more magical mix of four young kids? This song, like many others, ushered in a new age of ambitious song writing and recording (listen to that phasing / flanging!). And what a song this is! Still sounds as fresh and relevant now as it did then – and it’s approaching its 50th birthday soon! Also with the classic B-side of ‘I’m Only Dreaming’.
This is a fine copy – and so great to have the original vinyl from the original demo release – smack bang in the middle of The Summer Of Love….
The red ‘A’ demonstration sample labels are in really top shape. I can decipher maybe one (only) spindle trace to the B, that’s it. NO writing, sticker shading, rips, dirt or other nasties. Great pair of these near 50 year old labels, M- (Mint Minus).
The vinyl is again fine with near full shine. There are 3 thin scuff lines to the A (fine and unobtrusive but visible). That excepted, it looks close to new with NO embedded dirt, bobbles, no feelable marks, no dulling, no warp. It’s a genuine EX (Excellent) and many would grade higher as, apart from these soft and isolated marks (no impact on play), it’s totally without wear or ageing…
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO BOTH SIDES and plays without hindrance – as you would expect from such a nice looking disc. So expect NO snap, crackle or pops, NO distortion / groove wear and NO ticks, clicks or hiss. Perfect quiet run-ins. Very nice indeed and a quality addition to any collection. Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!
Presented in a classic Immediate company sleeve which may be its original.
