Description
RARE!! SMALL FACES LP. Original 1966 UK. DECCA MONO!! Very earliest FIRST PRESSING!!
“Small Faces”.
Up for auction is this rare first offering of the Small Faces on original red ‘open’ DECCA.
This album has been played and shows some light indiscretions both to the outer cover and the vinyl. BUT, I must stress that these anomalies are only slight and the sounds are quite superb.
COVER: EX+. No tears or writing. Some lamination wrinkle, but nothing serious. All lamination is intact. Rear of cover is showing its 43 years of age with some discolouration present. But, again intact with no writing or tears.
VINYL: Just a couple of light scuffs and one noticeable stylus touch are present which do not affect the superb quality of play. This is side two only, but EX++. Side one is NM. Still retains its just pressed glossy sheen and is perfectly flat with no warps, skips or jumps. Graded: a very strong EX++/NM.
LABELS: Superb. Deep original red colour. Open DECCA. No writing. Couple of light spindle trails only.
MATRIX NUMBERS: SIDE ONE: XARL-7217-5A
SIDE TWO: XARL-7218-3A
STAMPERS: SIDE ONE - 2/1 CK
SIDE TWO - 1 BK Making this one of the earliest first pressings.
INNER SLEEVE: Superb DECCA.
AUDIO: Superb thumping MONO sounds from this great Sixties band. Just sit back and lap up the glorious sounds.
To sum up. This album is of course not mint, but is very respectable indeed and a wonderful addition to any self respecting collector. The sounds are superb and truly classic. This rare album does not surface very often, so don’t miss out. Grab yourself a large slice of great musical history - and enjoy!!
