Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by Small Faces- Small Faces.
This was released on Decca Records in 1966 and has catalogue number LK4790. This is the 1st pressing with a red label with silver lettering, a groove runs around the circumference of the label, please check the pictures for clarification.
Matrix Numbers- XARL 7217 4A XARL 7218 3A
Condition: The sleeve has some discolouring marks on the rear, some lamination creases mostly by the mouth and lastly buffing to the very corners and mouth edge. Spine and edges ex, no tears, complete. Please check the pictures and graded at a strict VG.
This comes with its original patent inner sleeve that has a little yellowing (no tears or edge splits).
Labels: Both labels are clean and look new, under closer examination a few spider spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows little signs of wear on both sides.
Vinyl- both sides retain there new shine, when held under a strong light one light scratch and a couple of tiny feather scratches can be seen. There is also a couple of very faint dirt/finger marks. I have play tested this record through both sides and none of the above are audible whatsoever.
Side 1 has a quiet entry and goes on to play with very little lessening in sound quality. Quiet introductions and breaks between tracks, the music itself plays strong and clear with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever, Other than perhaps one or two quiet crackles this side plays perfectly.
Side 2 has the same quiet entry and breaks between tracks. The music itself plays strong and clear through this side with no fading, distortion or dragging heard whatsoever. Again other than a very occasional quiet crackle you would think it was new. This has only been played a few times on each side thus there is no reduction in sound quality through wear.
The vinyl for this is graded at Near Mint, playing with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality and has certainly not being overplayed.
This one I recommend, if your buying for sound quality this is as good as you can find it.
