RARE very first US pressing of the Small Faces psych/mod classic, "There Are But Four Small Faces" on Immediate Records (June 1967).
Contrary to the pastoral setting pictured on the album art, this rejiggering (of the US version) preserves the edgy mods of the 1967 album Small Faces, emphasizing their pop propulsion, artful soul, and furious rock & roll. By some measures, the 1967 Immediate LP is their best -- it's adventurous, bright, colorful, and concentrated, the brevity of the songs playing like snappy pop art -- and that essence is here, enhanced by "Tin Soldier," "Here Come the Nice," and "Itchycoo Park," the three greatest singles the band ever cut. MINT- COVER in very fine condition. Please see photos for details.
- Sleeve still in its original shrink, undamaged.
- Near-invisible, superficial corner crease on front cover (at top right).
- Tiny corner bump (at bottom right).
- Also includes the original, beige-coloured CBS Records inner sleeve in MINT- condition, with a single small (½ inch) seam split.
MINT- RECORD with practically no visible signs of previous play.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction.
- Near-inaudible, very sporadic background crackle in between some tracks.
- Original first-pressing pink Immediate Records labels with a single spindle line on each label.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "AA-Z12-52-002-1" and "AA-Z12-52-002-2", respectively.
- This record is fully certified to be a very first US pressing, released in June 1967.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be compared with the more-often-than-not substandard vinyl on offer on eBay, this item is in honestly-graded MINT(-) condition: You will not find another copy of "There Are But Four Small Faces" as nice as this one - especially at this bargain price. "True value for money" is the motto here!
