WOW!!! What I have for sale is a STUNNING original first US pressing of The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream on Caroline Records with gorgeous orange marbled vinyls!! This is arguably The Smashing Pumpkins at their finest and is most definitely one of the most underrated guitar albums of all time. Vinyl records had gone out of style in the 90's and had to "resurge" in popularity so vinyl records from this decade are generally rare anyway and this is certainly no exception!   Original first pressings of this album came in three different colors that I'm aware of: Orange, Pink and Purple.  Again, these are beautifully marbled orange.  
 Dead wax matrix numbers and stamping info:    Disc 1:  Side One: A1- CAROL 1740-1-A (etched) MASTERDISK (stamped)  Side Two: A2- CAROL 1740-1-B (etched) MASTERDISK (stamped)
 Disc 2:  Side One: B1- CAROL 1740-1-C (etched) MASTERDISK (stamped) Side Two: B2- CAROL 1740-1-D (etched) MASTERDISK (stamped) MASTERDISK is machine stamped in the dead wax on all four sides and the Carol matrix numbers are all hand etched which perfectly indicates a true 1st pressing. (see Discogs for reference) 
This copy is in stunning Near Mint minus overall - I add the minus because of the EX+ condition sleeve (It is SO close to NM but I am grading conservatively- see below) and easily NM discs...I believe the discs to be unplayed as this record has only had two owners (myself and the person I got it from)...I haven't played it and he never owned a turntable and also said he hadn't played it so...I feel comfortable saying it has most likely never been played. See below for a detailed detailed condition report. 
Sleeve: EX+ : This beautiful gatefold sleeve appears brand new but does have a slight bump to the lower right hand corner mainly on the front and a few slight "wrinkles" on the top of the rear cover. (See photos- the last two photos are of the only flaws I can find) The small "wrinkles" I assume came from the factory as it has been carefully handled and stored since it's original purchase. All other corners are sharp and the opening edges are very clean and razor sharp with only the slightest sign of disc removal in one small spot on one of the gatefolds.   No signs of ring wear, writing or other marks anywhere.  Spine is perfect.   
Discs: NM : (Most likely unplayed) These beautiful marbled orange vinyl discs appear like new with no visible scratches or scuffs. I couldn't even spot any bag removal hairlines or marks under a bright light. Any audiophile bidders may request a play check (though if they are unplayed would it be wise?)  I'd be more than happy to give this album a spin on my Technics SLQ-300 and listen to it LOUD, but due to the very strong probability that the discs are unplayed, I have resisted the urge to do this.  ;)
Labels: NM to EX- : A couple of the labels have a few small wrinkles definitely from the factory...other than that labels are perfect with no spindle wear, signs of play, marks or writing anywhere on them. 
Inner sleeves: NM : original generic die cut white paper sleeves are untorn and undamaged. Like new. 
 Overall, a nearly perfect condition RARE 1st pressing of Smasing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream from 1993...tough to find in any condition especially one as nice as this. It looks better than some records I buy brand new from a record store! Serious offers will definitely be considered so don't hesitate to make an offer. You never know! ;) 
 This item is for sale in the USA only for the time being...if you live in a different country and have a serious offer I will consider shipping to you depending on where you live. Shipping is a flat rate $4 media mail or $8 Priority Mail via USPS. It is autoset at $4 media mail but if you would like it quicker then by all means select the Priority Mail option during checkout. I know it differs depending on where you live so I guessed at the $8 price...if it ends up being more then I will eat the cost. I assure you, I make NO MONEY on shipping...I charge only the bare minimum and often lose money when I include packaging materials. I will be listing more very soon so if you buy more than one record I will happily combine shipping ($1 more for each additional LP (a double LP such as this would be $2). If I do decide to ship internationally, due to the value of the item I will ONLY ship via Registered 1st Class International Mail with tracking/signature included. This is typically about $35 (including the registration fee which is $15) but as this is a double LP it may be just a little more.  I myself am an avid record collector so I truly understand the importance of good packaging and the record should arrive in the same condition as it left. I use only high quality MoFi inner sleeves and place behind the jacket and placed inside a high quality resealable Japanese Mylar outer sleeve with stiffeners on each side and place the entire record into a brand new cardboard LP mailer. This will prevent any splitting of the inner sleeves or the jacket itself.  I also try to use bubble wrap whenever I'm able to fit the whole thing into the mailer.  I haven't shipped a double LP like this one for awhile so I can't remember if the bubble wrap will fit, but it should.  Rest assured, every attempt will be made to protect this record from even the most careless mail carrier.  :)

Condition Explanation

Mint (M)

The record is brand new . There are no surface marks and no deterioration in regards to sound quality. Any extra items are accounted for and are also in perfect condition. This includes the cover. Extra items can also include booklets, lyric sheets and posters, among other things. These records will usually be listed as "never played" or "sealed". These usually sell for more and are more valuable to collectors.

Near Mint (NM or M minus)

This record is almost perfect. There are no minor signs of wear and very minimal defects on the sleeve (cover), though there may be slight handling signs, such as finger smudges. The cover shouldn't have creases, seam splits or folds. This also holds true for any extra items. The items should be there and be in the same condition as the record and sleeve. In all honesty, these records should look as if they were newly purchased and just removed from their plastic covering. These sell for higher prices and are highly sought after by collectors.

Excellent (E)

The record has been played, but sound is still very great . There should not be surface marks or scratches, and the cover will have slight creasing or wear. The extra items are included and in the same condition as the cover. These still can sell for high prices and can still be collector's items, depending on the band.

Very Good Plus (VG plus)

Generally the same as excellent, as these are interchangeable, though the VG plus rating may include records with slight warps that do not affect the sound.

Very Good (VG)

The record has been enjoyed many times but still has good sound quality. There may be slight surface marks that are noticeable and one or two light scratches. The cover has normal wear and tear from being used, as do the extra items; the extra items that were included with the original record should still be included for this rating. These records may sell for decent amounts and are usually collected, especially if they are rare or a favorite band.

Good (G)

The record has been played for years, and the sound quality is noticeably deteriorated. There may also be some distortion of the record itself and mild scratching. The cover and extra items are present but may have distinct folding lines, scuffed edges, discoloration, and splitting of the seams. The worth of the record starts to decrease with this good grade, but it may still be collected, especially if it is rare.

Fair (F)

The record has not been cared for properly; for example, it has been left out of its sleeve, has been dropped, or suffered other types of damage. The record is playable, but it will display a lot of surface noise (scratchy, warbled sound) and may even jump. The record itself will be warped and scratched; damage to the center may be very noticeable. The cover and contents are both accounted for, but they will be stained, torn, or even defaced (written on with ink, etc.) Generally, these records are not preferred for collections.

Poor (P)

The record does not play properly because there are deep scratches and bad surface noise. The record will be warped and may jump entire sections of the song. The cover and/or contents may be partly missing and will be severely damaged. Collectors do not generally seek these records - the only reason a record with a poor grade will be purchased is to complete a collection by a specific band; however, this type of record will lower the collection's overall value, and many feel it is better to have an incomplete collection than a poor quality record.

Bad (B)

The record is broken or does not play. The extra items included with the new record are completely missing, and the cover may be gone completely, as well. As with poor quality records, most collectors will not want these items unless they are interested in owning a complete set.
