Description
I am in the process of selling of a large collection of records every one of which should interest serious collectors.
For auction here, an original 1983 first pressing of
THE SMITHS: Hand In Glove/Handsome Devil (1983 UK Rough Trade RT 131)
The disc appears totally unplayed and comes with a two page press release about the group from the Appearing Media Group. It's quite sweet actually. It reveals for instance that the name Smiths is "...an antidote to modern groups who need only a far-reaching, multi syllabic name to authorize their artistry." Now who does that sound like is dictating there? Elsewhere, in the biography notes we learn Morrissey feels that "...the sexes have allowed themselves to be too different." Hurray!
All in all the literature is a terrific little extra that VERY FEW people would have found inside their copies at the time. It is simply what only the very earliest editions were mailed out with. Got yours?
It is in perfect royal blue stapled condition as is the rest of this historic record.

The start is low and there is no reserve. Oh and andy Rourke's favourite icon is Norman Wisdom. Apparently.
