G = Good
- good (engl.) = gut, ausreichend
Dennoch ist eine als G eingestufte Platte noch gut abspielbar und durchaus kaufenswert. Der Wert einer G/G-Platte beträgt 50% einer M/M-Platte.

Die Kürzel + (Plus) oder - (Minus) werden an eine der obenstehenden Qualitätsstufen angehängt, wenn sich der Tonträger / das Cover keiner der Qualitätsstufen eindeutig zuordnen lässt. Beispiel: Ist eine Platte besser als VG, aber nicht mehr M, so lautet in diesem Fall die korrekte Bewertung VG+. Liegt sie aber doch eher im Bereich M, so lautet die Bewertung M- (wird oft als Near Mint bezeichnet).
