For those who have not heard of Dan Gibson: (Montreal, January 19, 1922 – March 18, 2006) was a Canadian photographer, cinematographer and sound recordist.
During the late 1940s, he took photographs and made nature films, including Audubon Wildlife Theatre. He produced many films and television series. It was through this film-making that Dan learned how to record wildlife sound. He pioneered techniques of recording, and also helped design equipment to optimize results, including the “Dan Gibson Parabolic Microphone”. Some of his early recordings of the 1950s and 1960s were released on LP Records, and start his Solitudes® series, which was introduced in 1981.

Note that the tracks are not divided, the track is one continuous track as may be discerned above in the picture. THUNDERSTORM - Outside your window a raven warns of the approaching storm. When distant thunder rumbles behind the horizon, then crashes across your windowpane. Sunday brunch was never so cozy. PACIFIC RAINFOREST - On a trail through Nature's most lavish creation. At the end of the trail - a Pacific beach. Just follow the sound of the distance surf. A CAMP BY THE EDGE OF A NORTHERN LAKE - A canoe trip might be just a trip, but if the loons are calling the memory will haunt you always. ROCKY SEASHORE WITH WIND - Need a challenge? Man or woman against Nature? Try fighting your way along this rocky seacoast. SOFT RAIN AND BIRDS - This side can transform any place, anytime, into a morning in spring. NIAGARA FALLS - Oscar Wilde, after looking at the falls, said they would be more interesting if they flowed up. But for most of us they fascinate. And for many they have special memories. Note - play this cut loud - and you will likely create an exciting mesmerizing effect, just as you would if you looked over at this giant spectable. NIAGARA FALLS FROM THE PARK - Same facination, same memories, but from a different perspective. BY THE SIDE OF A LAKE - Read a book. Do your excercises. Watch a fire. Daydream. Talk to a friend over a drink - the gentle lapping and a patrolling gull or two make whatever you're doing more enjoyable. FARM POND - If you're thinking of joining the throngs that have turned from an urban to a rural life, this is a foretaste of how your early spring will sound. If the final bid price is well over the starting bid, extra insurance will be discussed. I will ship overseas by airmail only for $50.00 and insurance is not available for overseas. See the other LP's I have listed on eBay at the same time and save on shipping. I ship LPs, worldwide, in boxes, with bubble wrap, extra cardboard and foam insulation. I send out a congratulatory notice and eBay invoice to the winner within 24 hours of the end of the auction. If I do not hear from the winner, I send out a second invoice, 2 or 3 days after the end of the auction. I will wait the full week in hopes of the winner still making contact with me, but after the seventh day I will submit a dispute to ebay to start the process to collect my commissions back, and re-list the item.
