THE GREATEST COMEDIAN who ever walked a stage was, by common consent, BERT WILLIAMS. He turned Minstrelsy upside down, making people laugh not only at him, but at THEMSELVES. As proof, consider this 1910 record: It contains two numbers featured by Bert, in his hilarious, wry, nonchalant style, during his first season in the Ziegfeld Follies - the pinnacle of show business - "SOMETHING YOU DON'T EXPECT" (composed by Bert) and the classic tune, "PLAY THAT BARBERSHOP CHORD."
No, that's not your eyes malfunctioning. The labels on this Columbia record actually ARE two different shades of blue - midnight blue on "Expect," and powder blue on "Barbershop." I've never seen another like it!
This original 1910 Columbia A929 is in respectable E condition.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care.
