Sonic Youth ?– Sonic Youth vinyl LP (SST Records SST 097) ORIGINAL SST EDITION

RARE second press of Sonic Youth's debut Neutral Records album, this 2nd edition was released by SST Records in 1987 (the album originally appeared in 1982). This wasn't out for long, it was released right as SY were leaving SST in 1987.

Thurston Moore once told me that he was listening back to SY from this period and was happy to hear that they bore the influence or the sound of Mars (the band from No New York) and he's right to some extent (maybe moreso on the Geffen reissue CD bonus tracks), but Sonic Youth of 1981 were a totally original entity and would never sound the same again (which is just fine, but this record is essential!).

Recorded and mixed at Radio City Music Hall, New York City between December 1981 and January 1982.
Track A2 is named "I Dream I Dreamed" on center label.
Side 1 is wrongly printed as "33? rpm STEREO B" on label and vice versa.
Back cover is printed upside down.
Originally released in 1982 by Neutral Records (1982).
