Description
You are bidding on an original copy of Sonic's Rendezvous Band's 45 City Slang. Sonic's were the hottest band on the Detroit scene in the late 70's. They consisted of Fred "Sonic" Smith (MC5): guitar and vocals, Scott Morgan (The Rationals): guitar and vocals, Gary Rasmussen (The Up): bass, Scott (Rock Action) Ashton (The Stooges): drums. I have many great memories of seeing Sonic's playing at Bookies in Detroit. These were highlighted by the fact that once Fred and Patti Smith became a couple, Patti would hand out on the dance floor with us during Fred's set. This was the only recording by Sonic's released while Fred was still alive. It wasn't long after this that Fred and Patti married and retired from music to raise a family. Their son Jackson, is currently married to Meg White.
This is an original black print copy of the 45. It is a numbered edition of 1000 # 478. This has been in my possession since I purchased it upon release. Sleeve does have a few marks on it, but the edges are still intact and the 45 has not torn through. The record has been played, but is in very good condition.
