ON TO MORE 45s OF VARIOUS STYLES - This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1956 U.S. SUN RECORDS 45 RPM RECORD from rockabilly wild man Sonny Burgess containing the songs 'Red Headed Woman' backed with 'We Wanna Boogie', two of the wildest and crudest slices of rockabilly every recorded.  It is Sun Records catalog number 247.  A detailed description of the condition of this 45 is in order due to some unusual appearance characteristics -- This may be one of those early Sun 45s that supposedly was pressed on old 78RPM pressing equipment - The heavy vinyl has somewhat of a cloudy textured appearance on both sides with less gloss than is usually seen, caused by what appear to be millions of very tiny microscopic dots in the vinyl surface.  One might think this was caused by exposure to heat, except that this appearance is uniform over both sides of the record.  The effect on the play performance of the record is that the record plays throughout with somewhat more hissing background noise than is usually encountered with early Sun Records pressings (most of which usually play with some hissing background noise), again this might be the result if this record was pressed on old 78RPM pressing equipment.  With respect to wear due to use I'd grade this 45 at a mid to high VG with a moderate to fair amount of surface marks and light surface scratches, a very few of which can be felt but none of which have an audible effect on play; besides the hissing background noise the record plays through quite well on both sides with almost no other flaws.  I should also mention that the record has a very slight and almost nonexistent dish warp which has no effect on play.  Labels are good with no other flaws besides some contact wear.  I have priced this 45 according to its physical appearance (which actually adds to its authenticity) and condition as well as its rarity and legendary status as one of the wildest rockabilly records ever made, I will leave it to the bidders to decide its final value - An essential and scarce cornerstone addition to any rockabilly or Sun Records 45 record collection!
